The Beginning of a New School Year

Summer was slowly coming to an end. The soft breeze that blew carried the faint smell of Autumn and already the leaves on the trees were starting to change from green to yellow and red. Birds chirped in the trees that surrounded the big mansion, which had been made into a school for Adepts. Small squirrels and other rodents ran through the courtyard, making their way towards their den where they would hole up while the new students made their way into the school. Along the dirt path walked a tall blonde boy, with brilliant blue eyes. His hair was of mid-length and he walked with an aura about him that said he was capable of defending himself. At the moment, on of his hands rested in his pocket while the other swayed at his side. Girls all around called out his name and he just smiled at them and kept walking, not wanting to attract too much attention on the first day back.

The boy's name was Arc Senshuya and he was in his second year here at Weyward Academy. The year before, he had slowly gained the status of a well rounded student. He was always good in class and was in a few clubs. Over time, he had gained the position of Head Boy of his respective class, which was class B. Not many people messed with the boy, because they knew was skilled with a blade and he also knew his way around a fist fight. A sigh escaped his lips as he continued walking. This was going to be another interesting year.

A young girl with midnight black hair sat on the third step from the bottom of some stairs. Some of the bangs covered half of her pale heart face. Her elbows on her knees with her hands clasped together. Zaroka Oshima. A second year student of the Academy; being in the A class; with the roaring wind element. Soon blood red eyes opened from behind the bangs. Watching anyone that started to walk about the hall.

Tho getting tired of sitting down in the same spot of few hours. Hima stood up, showing her full height. She ran her fingers threw her thick short hair; starting to walk about the halls.

A pale girl of a light build wearing a white t-shirt and grey jogging pants, with over worn grey tennis shoes; came walking in nibbling on a cupcake she got from some lunch ladies who were checking in early to get ready for the days ahead. Looking around she noticed a young girl with midnight black hair, a boy with blond hair, and a crowd of people who were talking, laughing, and enjoying being able to see each other again after the long days of summer . Looks like more people she arrived she thought as she seemingly dance walked over to them. Her walk was very distinct because it always looked as if she was a lost ballerina in the middle of a recital.

Coming in closer she noticed more and more people hugging and coming close to tears from being able to see each other. She felt sort of down drought, this is what she gets for focusing all her time on her studies other than making friends last year. Well, this is a new year things can change. She thought as she finished her cupcake and tossed the wrapper with ease in a trash can.

Xion, a normal looking teen girl with brown hair worn losely around her shoulders pushed back, as usual, by her pink sunglasses, walked up the path that lead to the sohool grounds. She walked with her eyes closed, simply allowing her feet to carry her which ever way they were drawn. A small smile spread across her face as she was hit by the cool breeze. Something about the Fall weather always made her feel renewed and ready for anything.

She hummed quietly to a tune that was stuck in her head, even though she could only remember a line or two from the song itself. The voices of the other students soon surrounded her, making her aware that she had finally arrived back at the academy. She opened her dark grey eyes and looked around, if she hadn't opened her eyes when she did, she would have ran right into someone.

She blushed and took a step back, "I'm sorry, guess I should keep my eyes open when I walk," She said.

Rex was standing at the doorway to the school, chewing on some gum. He glanced at some students talking about, some just hanging around waiting for other students to talk about. He hated this time of year, new & old faces to remember, even some of his favorite students are now gone. Rex sighed, he looked around and noticed a girl walking up to him, with her eyes closed. sigh. Well...if it isn't Xion...maybe I'll get her to join swimming club this year! thought Rex with a smile, he just wanted a good student so they would beat their rivals in swimming contests. They needed a good female swimmer. He looked down at Xion when she opened her eyes. "Its okay Xion, you should scurry off to find some friends! Its never too late to join a club! Like per say....swimming club?" suggested Rex as he turned around to look at the school.

Xion looked at Rex for a moment and then her smile widened, "Swimming Club, eh? I guess I should become more active this year, and I do love swimming.. Alright, count me in." She said, brightly.

She followed Rex's gaze to the school and then let out a sigh, it was her second year at the school as well, and she was happy to be back. Atleast here she was away from the pressures of home life. Here, she wasn't considered special because everyone could do what she did, well basically.

"So, have a good summer Rex?" She asked, deciding that it would be rude to just stand there in silence, and there was no where else that she needed to be.

Hima stood near the double windows that seemed to had fit into the hallway. She watched many people chatting, anything to the pasted summer or the new coming year at the academy. Zaroka leaned on the wall next to some pole that went threw that floor and most likely too the next.

Many of the people from last year gave small and sort waves to the dark girl, glancing out the window to see the leaves dancing in the small wind. She then grew distant to the people and things around her. Giving soon of only seeming minutes; she pushed herself off the wall and to yet walk around the halls once again.

Ran walked towards the school entrance, he looked at the students around him, many of them were chatting with one another. He walked up to the side of the front steps and leaned against them. Ran wasnt much of a people person, and so chose to be alone.

Why wasnt he a people person? Well that is simple. He trusted many people when he was younger and then he lost his parents and his sister was kidnapped. That incident lost his trust in any other person, and he will never give out trust so willing any more.

'This is going to be annoying' Ran thought as he looked out at the students talking and laughing with one another. 'Stupid naive fools, putting their trust in others so easily.' He narrowed his red eyes at that thought and turned away.

A loud yawn escaped the lips of the dark haired boy who was laying down in the shade on a bench that he had arrived extra early to keep out of the clutches of the newbies who were set to start this year. He mused to himself at the fact this was going to be his fourth year here and a little grin appeared on his face, he actually enjoyed being here.

Slowly but surely the sounds of people talking could be heard, he slowly opened one eye and looked at whoever it was, seeing a variety of faces, some familiar, some strange and some he just didn't know... yet.

Sky set himself an aim to make himself as known as possible to as many people as he possibly could, even if it meant making himself look the fool sometimes.

Abruptly a large man stood in Sky's view of the fresh faces, at first Sky just tried to look around him, but suddenly looked up to realise it was a teacher, staring down at him with a rather monotonous look.

"Should I assume you're laying here because you're all set for your speech that you're to be giving at the welcoming ceremony?" Said the Teacher in a stern tone.

Sky simply looked up and grinned because saying "that was today?", he laughed as he stood up and walked past the teacher, "of course I've not prepared, I'll just make something up like always" he said winking at the now rather annoyed teacher, who proceeded to chase Sky around as if this was a simple game of tag to the 4th year.

They both ran around and weaved between the crowds of people that started forming for the ceremony.
